Circus skills are fantastic or pupils with Special needs. When the company was started in 1993 one of its initial aims was to work with Special Needs pupils and see how it could help develop motor skills, confidence and concentration.
Juggling in particular others a great tool for pupils to develop their hand eye coordination. This can be with scarfs which float and therefore give more time to catch and also allow time to perform larger movements. We also like to teach passing which is a great way to develop team and partner work.
You will also find that circus skills. particularly poi and diabolo have a very mesmeric effect. Teachers always comment on how pupils who often have problems with concentration are completely absorbed in the activity.
You will find that the pupils will find their skill - that they can excel in. Circus naturally invites creativity and imagination and given the opportunity pupils will come up with new ideas every time.
Often with a circus day at special school we recommend having the standard assembly and classes as per a normal circus day but if time allows at the end it is good to get every one together at the end for a kind of show and tell where our teacher can get some of the pupils to perform the tricks they have learnt - great fun!
Class Size : We recommend we work with your standard class size with usual classroom support.
